Good News for Kenilworth Park Hill Residents

July 31, 2004 7:02 AM

It has been reported this week that property developers have bought the 2-acre derelict factory site on the corner of Common Lane and Dalehouse Lane in Kenilworth, and hope to submit a planning application soon to demolish the building and build housing in its place.

Local residents have long been protesting about the site, labelling it both an eyesore and dangerous for children.

Ward councillor Dave Shilton, Liberal Democrat, said:

" This is brilliant news. We've been trying to get something done about this site for ages, and now it seems we can move forward."

Local campaigner Alison Tyler, Liberal Democrat candidate in the forthcoming Park Hill By-Election on 12th August, said:

"This development could provide a real boost for this area, although it's important that any new housing scheme is in keeping with its surroundings."
