Campaigning on Campus

Richard Allanach and John Whitehouse spent Friday afternoon campaigning on the Warwick University Campus. Part of the campus lies in the Rugby and Kenilworth constituency, and student residences make up one seventh of Kenilworth's Abbey division electorate where John Whitehouse is the Liberal Democrat candidate.
They were quizzed about Liberal Democrat policies on tuition fees, the Iraq war and civil partnerships. A number of students said they thought that ever increasing levels of student debt would make getting a foothold in the property market more difficult and some said it would affect what subjects they chose. One student said that scientists were abandoning their post-graduate research programmes to go into jobs in banking because they could no longer afford to continue in their chosen field.
Richard's daughter Gina joins in the campaigning
Richard Allanach's youngest daughter Gina broke off from her own studies in Cambridge in order to support him on this campaign visit.
