Warwickshire Lib Dem councillors and supporters
Cllr Jerry Roodhouse, Leader of the Warwickshire county council Liberal Democrat group, said following the election results for Warwickshire:
"Liberal Democrats, whilst disappointed by losing some seats, are pleased that we managed to hold against the tide from the Tories.
We need to be careful that the County is not dragged down a path of any one political colour. Liberal Democrats will be seeking a mixed Cabinet .The electors of this County have once again spoken with a mixed voice by returning Warwickshire to a no overall control position. Liberal Democrats will seek fairness and will work to ensure that we have a County for the people and not one political party."
Warwickshire County Council is now made up of 27 Conservatives, 23 Labour, 11 Liberal Democrats and 1 Independent. The Council will be holding its AGM on May 17th.
