Noreen New is the Liberal Democrat candidate in the Rugby Paddox Ward by-election to be held on Wednesday 12 October.
She is a behaviour management teaching assistant who works at Northlands School. Noreen lives in Charlesfield Road and has two children. She is a member of Sustainable Rugby.
Noreen is positive about Paddox ward and its residents. She, unlike other candidates, has no intention of running the area down,or highlighting problems out of all proportion.
Paddox is a great place to live. If elected, Noreen New, Richard Dodd and the Focus team will work with you to make it even better.
Noreen says:
"Where problems do exist, I hope that by consulting with residents we can continue to make improvements to the area. With your support I will take a positive and pro-active approach towards problem solving.
Positive about improving our environment:
Inconsiderate changes to refuse collection and recycling services, have led to anger and confusion. Hasty decisions without notification to residents have led to unemptied bins and dissatisfaction with council services. We are already working on this one.
Positive about older and vulnerable residents:
Many of you have raised concerns about the loss in local bus services, It is clear that the companies have not considered the impact these cuts are having on the community. I am already pursuing this issue, and I will keep you informed.
Positive about young people:
Not all of our children are trouble making hoodlums, and many of them feel that they are being unfairly portrayed. Many of them are hard working and diligent. We need to target trouble making troublemaking individuals, not punish young people indiscriminately. It is not a crime to be young.
Positive about our community:
I will work with Richard Dodd and residents to make Paddox a Cleaner, Greener and Safer place to live."
