A New Year, A New Local Party for Rugby

At midnight on the 1st January 2007 the Rugby & Kenilworth Liberal Democrat party ceased to exist, and the new Rugby Liberal Democrat party came into existence.

Rugby members and supporters from the old Rugby and Kenilworth Local Party will be joining colleagues from form a new local party based on the boundaries of the new Rugby parliamentary constituency which will come into being at the next General Election.

"We are of course sorry to be saying goodbye to colleagues in Kenilworth, although the ties built up over many years will not be easily broken. However, we are also looking forward tremendously to the challenges and opportunities that the new constituency will bring. "
