Waste Not Want Not - Public Meeting 1st February

January 25, 2007 11:30 AM

Waste not Want not.

In 2005/06, Warwickshire produced 288,781 tonnes of household waste.

What can we do together?

7.30pm West Indian Club St Peters Rd Rugby February 1st

Neil SandisonChairman Cllr Neil Sandison

Welcome to 2007 and we hope the New Year will be a good one for you.

In 2006 we saw Climate Change shoot up the political agenda. 2007 now brings with it these challenges for us:

• Growing mountains of waste going to land fill;

• Increasing energy demands;

• Changes in our weather pattern;

• Increased levels of pollution.

Climate change is here and Rugby Liberal Democrats are prepared to both meet this challenge and to ask what can we do here in Rugby by acting locally to help tackle these global issues.

Thank you for all your feedback on matters that concern you. We have listened to your suggestions and we propose to hold a series of meetings on the matters you have raised, The above meeting is the first in that series, come and have your say on this and other important issues affecting you and your environment.

Rugby Liberal Democrats are saying, "let's talk" because Rugby people and communities matter
