Rugby Liberal Democrats leading the way on Recycling
Liberal Democrat action for recycling
Liberal Democrats are proposing an extra £160,000 should go towards extra recycling in Rugby. Rugby Borough Council is one of the worst performing local authorities in the country in terms of recycling and it was clear from the recent survey carried out by the Liberal Democrats in Rugby that this was a top priority for local people.
Cllr Jerry Roodhouse said "once again we have local opinion ahead of the Cabinet, we are keen to bring forward extra resources to increase recycling and has been a commitment made by the Liberal Democrats. This also forms part of our campaign on zero waste for the borough of Rugby"
At the budget debate Liberal Democrats once again state that Council Tax is unfair and does not relate to the ability to pay. At the budget debate to be held 1st March the Conservatives will proposed an increase of Council Tax in Rugby by 3.5% band D
