Kenilworth Conservation Area Review10.46.26am BST (GMT +0100) Sat 30th Oct 2004
Kenilworth Liberal Democrats strongly support the need for the widest possible public consultation process about proposed extensions to the existing Kenilworth Conservation Area. Despite the actions of the District Council to publicise the proposals, including writing to every affected householder, the Lib Dems are concerned that too few residents will realise the potential implications of living in a conservation area - that there are disadvantages as well as advantages - until after decisions have been taken. To further raise awareness among residents of the areas potentially affected, therefore, local Liberal Democrats have this week delivered a special edition of their FOCUS newsletter door-to-door. The leaflet provides a balanced view of some of the main pros and cons of living in a conservation area, and urges residents to find out the facts for themselves - and to write to the District Council with their views before the deadline of 19th November. NOTE: A copy of the special FOCUS leaflet can be found in the Download area of this website.
