JR TD NN changing room picCouncillor Tim Douglas has written to the local papers about the questions he is asking at Council and the need for a strategic policy and plan in place with regards to upgrading changing room facilities.

Dear Editor,

I was pleased to read in last week's paper about concerns for the condition of changing room facilities at Featherbed Lane. This is an issue that I raised at Full Council in August because other facilities at GEC field, Alwyn Road and Whinfield Rec are also suffering. I was disappointed to learn when I asked the Council if they have a strategic policy and plan in place with regards to upgrading changing room facilities, it is not deemed necessary to have a policy for such a small number of changing rooms. I don't think this is acceptable. Parks, changing rooms and pavilions are important community assets and help improve our health and well-being. They should be accessible for as many people as possible. I want to see Rugby Borough Council upgrade all changing room facilities and ensure a policy is in place so they allow for greater community use.

Yours sincerely,

Tim Douglas
