Youth and Play Grants open for applications

March 26, 2018 11:34 PM
By Rugby Lib Dems

Bill Lewis at the PlaygroundYouth and Play Grants from Rugby Borough Council are now open for applications and Rugby Liberal Democrats are encouraging community groups to apply. In the past the Grants have funded projects that buy play area equipment such as goal posts and swings. They have also been used to train up personnel and help with start-up costs for youth clubs and play groups.

The Grants can also be used to fund smaller equipment to aid in the delivery of play sessions, such as inflatables, ball pools and pool tables. Funding can also be used to help with taster sessions; trips away; or one off events looking to give the local community a family fun day or to boost awareness of your current project or organisation.

To be eligible to apply to this fund your application must:

  • Be from a community/voluntary/not for profit organisation (this includes faith organisations where there is wider community benefit to their activity and the project is not looking to promote religious belief / activity)
  • Demonstrate your organisation's plans to ensure that the grant will be spent within 12 months of it being allocated
  • Be led by (or supported by) a constituted organisation with its own bank account
  • Be seeking a maximum of £1,000

For further information call the Rugby Borough Council Grants Department on 01788 533533 or email grants@rugby.gov.uk

Completed application forms and supporting documents should be sent to the Housing and Community Development Team, Rugby Borough Council, Town Hall, Evreux Way, Rugby, CV21 2RR or email grants@rugby.gov.uk

Applications must be submitted by 12 noon on Monday 9 April 2018.
