Campaign leads to parking patrols on Southfields Estate

Following a campaign led by Councillor Jerry Roodhouse and supported by local residents one of the Rugby Town East Police Team's priorities, which are set every three months, will be for the team to focus their patrols on the Southfields Estate.

High visibility patrols will be made by the team to deal with any inconsiderate parking in the area. The Southfields estate includes Cromwell Road, Pytchley Road, Naseby Road, Benn Street, Faraday Road and all the roads coming off these. This area has a bus route where it has been highlighted that buses struggle to get through and therefore would also cause difficulties for emergency vehicles.

The Rugby Town East Police Team endeavour to work with the community, local councillors and other agencies to try and resolve issues.

Cllr Jerry Roodhouse prepared the leaflets shown in the picture for local residents to be made aware of the offences and concerns raised. He has worked with the team to deliver the leaflets in the area and met with the team when they were out delivering in November. The leaflets will also be used to make residents aware in areas of Hillmorton where inconsiderate parking is seen.

The team has a good working relationship with Jerry and the local Liberal Democrat Councillors in the area and are planning to run regular drop-ins for residents to discuss their issues. The next one is being set for January 2018.
