Have your say on Warwickshire Police budget

Warwickshire's Police and Crime Commissioner has begun consulting the public on the Police Precept, as the Commissioner begins the process of setting the 2019/20 budget for Warwickshire Police.

The Precept consultation follows the Government's annual funding settlement announcement for policing on 13 December, which has given PCCs flexibility to raise their precept by up to £2 per month on a Band D property for 2019/20.

Options for smaller increases of £1.50 per month and £1 per month (at Band D) are also being consulted upon.

The opinions gathered by the consultation survey will help influence Warwickshire's Police and Crime Commissioner's final decision on next year's budget, which will be set in early February.

The consultation will be open until Tuesday 24 January 2019.

Cllr Bill Lewis (pictured) has previously expressed his concerns about cuts to policing in Rugby.
