Rana on Climate Change

Rana Das Gupta, the Liberal Democrats Parliamentary Candidate for Rugby & Bulkington, has written to the local papers about the Liberal Democrats' radical plan to fight the climate crisis and cut carbon emissions by 75% in the next 10 years.

Dear Editor,

Our planet is in crisis, balanced on a knife-edge at the point of no return. Climate change is causing temperatures to soar, the ice caps to melt and whole species to be wiped out. We need to take action on climate change now.

That's why the Liberal Democrats have produced a radical plan to fight the climate crisis and cut carbon emissions by 75% in the next 10 years.

Our plan includes: ending the use of fossil fuels in the economy, replacing them with renewable energy; removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through tree planting and technology; cutting greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the demand for energy through measures like home insulation and better energy efficiency; and working more closely with partners in Europe and across the globe.

If you demand better action on the climate crisis, back our plan today. We owe it to future generations to leave them a habitable planet.
