Thank you - Rana Das-Gupta

A huge thank you to everyone in Rugby & Bulkington who voted Liberal Democrats at the General Election on Thursday 12 December 2019, and everyone who supported us during the campaign.

The outcome of the General Election is obviously disappointing, but there is much to be positive about. We increased our vote in Rugby & Bulkington from the 2017 election (+ 2.7%) and natioanlly we increased our vote share by over 4% coming second in 91 seats across the country.

In 2020 we will turn our energies to holding the Conservatives to account.

Commenting on the 2019 General Election result, Rana Das-Gupta, Liberal Democrats Parliamentary Candidate for Rugby & Bulkington, said:

"General Elections are always tough campaigns and I want to thank everyone that supported me in this election. The Liberal Democrats increased our vote from 2017 across Rugby and Bulkington. This was my first General Election as a candidate and I had the great pleasure of meeting many residents from the area and I'm grateful for the support I received.

"Clearly the result means that I along with fellow Liberal Democrats must now make sure that the new government delivers on each and every one of their promises particularly on public services and we ensure that the United Kingdom remains intact. We must hold the government to account and if they do not deliver we shall be holding them responsible."
