Vote Liberal Democrats for an Active, Caring and Effective Councillor
Voting Liberal Democrats in this year's local elections on Thursday 3 May is a vote for someone who is ACE - Active, Caring and Effective.
Liberal Democrat Councillors listen to residents and get things done for their communities.
In the past 12 months we have: worked with the Police to improve parking around schools; worked with residents to support the preservation of a nature reserve and the Great Central Way; successfully campaigned to get funding for new bus shelters and traffic calming measures; hosted community compost and recycling events; done litter picks; supported the development of a local job club.
We remain opposed to the green bin waste charge and will continue to highlight to the Council alternative ways of working.
Vote Liberal Democrats on 3 May 2018 for a Council that is:
Active - We are campaigning for changing rooms and sports facilities to be upgraded and calling for a bus interchange in the town centre with cycle and pedestrian links to the rest of the Borough.
Caring - We are leading the way by developing a Landlord Charter to help improve private renting in Rugby. We support local charities such as Hope4 to reduce homelessness and work with Age UK to bring about greater health and well-being provision for older residents.
Effective - We want a fairer Council Tax system to ensure tax payers' money works for the benefit of all. We have put forward proposals to reduce plastic waste. We want more empty homes to be brought back into use and we support additional affordable housing in all new housing developments in Rugby.
On Thursday 3 May 2018, Vote for active, caring and effective Councillors; vote Liberal Democrats.
