Eastland's Lib Dem Councillors are receiving increasing complaints from residents concerning speeding along Barby Road leading to near misses at the crossing. We also have concerns regarding the safety of horses and riders who frequently use this route for exercising.

A secondary problem has been parking on the grass verges opposite the Hospital of St Cross which is unlit this is not only dangerous in terms of Highway safety it is causing severe damage to the verge. We believe the problem has occurred since the Hospital Trust increased parking fees. Cllr Neil Sandison says "We have raised this directly with the trust at a meeting in Rugby. We are also raising it with the County Council and the Police as a safety issue."
