Blues to snub Green Rangers

5 Jun 2015

Last Autumn Cllr Neil Sandison (Lib Dem, Eastlands) proposed that volunteers, environmental groups and Rugby Borough Council should work together to protect Rugby's green spaces. For full story - see http://rugby.lib.dm/a1Rk0 .

In March a pilot project showed how well this would work - see http://rugby.lib.dm/a5VlQ .

But on Monday it looks as if the town's top tories will meet in their cabinet and veto any plans to take this further.

It seems that now that David Cameron has achieved a majority in the Commons the tories' "husky hugging" days are being rapidly put behind them.
