Council acts on travellers at Whinfield Recreation Ground

15 Nov 2014

There are several official sites for travellers in Warwickshire including one owned by Rugby Borough Council.

The travellers currently occupying land at the end of Whinfield Recreation Ground are doing so without the consent of Rugby Borough Council.

Eastlands Ward councillors have been working with the Council, police and local residents to resolve the situation. Rugby Borough Council has applied to the County Court for an eviction order and we understand this will be heard on Monday 17 November 2014.
