Eastlands Crack Down on Fly-Tipping and Neglected Areas

Eastland's Lib Dem Councillors are leading the way in cracking down on fly-tipping around the Ward.

Cllr. Neil Sandison said, "Following local concerns raised with me and my fellow Borough Councillors, Sue Roodhouse and Dale Keeling, we decided to launch a campaign to crack down on the neglected areas."

Work so far includes;

Winfield Street
Development site between Winfield Street and South Street has a insecure fence and large amount of fly tipped items.
The owner is now being sort after by development control and environmental protection to re-secure fence and remove all fly tipped items from his site.

South Street
Mixed site to rear of Clifton Road shopping parade fly tipped items and a badly damaged fence, some trees with snapped trunks are also in a state of neglect. The owner has agreed to clear the site, repair the fence and work with the Council tree officer to see which trees can be saved.

Butlin Road (lane football club end at rear of Clifton Road Allotments
Heavily fly tipped and littered area plus a significant number of needles have been found from drug taking. The fly tipping has been removed and needles removed. We are working on getting the litter and other items cleaned up. Anti fly tipping notices to be erected in April.
