We ask how will the extra costs be paid for? new vehicles, food caddy system and the otganising for flats, Houses of Multiple Occupation etc hopefully not the Council Tax Payer
The Government has confirmed the following that the Weekly collection of food waste will also be introduced for most households across England by 2026 – ending the threat of smelly waste waiting weeks for collection and cutting food waste heading to landfill. Link to press statement 21st October 2023 , the Government has also said The plans will apply to all homes in England, including flats. Similar measures will apply to non-household municipal premises, including businesses, hospitals, schools and universities.
On food waste the UK wastes approximately 9.5 million tonnes of food every year. This includes food waste generated at various stages of the food supply chain, including production, processing, distribution, retail, and households.
