General Election - Jerry says thank you for support
Jerry Roodhouse, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Rugby and Bulkington, has written to the local papers to say thank you to all those people who voted for him and the Liberal Democrats at the General Election.
Dear Editor,
I want to thank all those people that voted for me and the Liberal Democrats at the General election last week.
The election was called by Theresa May in order to give her a stronger mandate and see off the internal Conservative squabbles. It is now over and the national result is not what she wanted. Consequently, it has sent the country headlong towards some of the greatest challenges. The result also demonstrates to me that we are living in a country that has increasing divisions not only by generational age but also by Social Care & NHS post code lottery.
Furthermore, the Brexit talks start very soon and it looks like Theresa May has done a deal with the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) from Northern Ireland so that she can stay in power. Mark Pawsey is our new Member of Parliament and over the coming weeks and months we need to see exactly what our MP is doing for this constituency and I for one will be challenging him all the way.
Yours sincerely,
Jerry Roodhouse
