Gyratory Railings: Tories collapse under community pressure

29 Mar 2015

A partial success. The conservative run Warwickshire County Council is doing a U-turn over its decision to remove the railings running alongside Rugby's gyratory.

The county council had removed the railings without first consulting local residents about their loss. After a massive protest the tories backtracked or as Cllr Peter Butlin (Con, Admirals) put it "… community opinion is very important …". A great shame (and waste of money) that the conservatives did not take community opinion into account before removing the railings.

Cllr Neil Sandison (Lib Dem, Eastlands) said "It is good to hear that the tories have rethought the removal of the guard railing".
