Has another Rugby Tory Councillor defected?

Today (Sunday 11 October 2015) the Rugby Borough Council website lists David Ellis who was elected as conservative for Wolston and the Lawfords Ward in 2014 as an independent. Has David Ellis decided he can no longer stomach the tory group on Rugby Borough Council?
