Heritage & Culture Warwickshire Public Consultation

RLD
11 Sep 2016

Rugby Lib Dems are encourgaing local residents to have their say on Heritage & Culture Warwickshire (HCW) transformation before the consultation closes on 31 October 2016 to help influence the Cabinet of Warwickshire County Council's decision on the future of these services.

Heritage & Culture Warwickshire (HCW) provides a wide range of services that safeguard and promote Warwickshire's archives and collections and deliver high quality education activities and events programmes.

They operate two museum sites in Warwick; Market Hall Museum and St Johns House Museum. In addition they operate the Warwickshire County Record Office, Warwick.

HCW is part way through a programme of transformation, to provide an enhanced offer to the public through:

- The refurbishment of the Market Hall Museum, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund

- Development of new education and learning programmes, to meet the needs of the new curriculum and new displays at the Market Hall Museum

- Greater online access to Warwickshire's collections

They have identified potential ways of making savings, and are collecting the views of visitors, partners, funders, staff and volunteers to inform the decisions we now have to make.

You can follow the link www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Heritageandculture to the consultation. Paper versions will also be available at HCW sites and at all Warwickshire County Council Libraries.

In addition to these questionnaires there will also be the opportunity for people to engage via HCW's partners and stakeholder networks and at Area Forums across each District.

If you would like further information on this please contact Michelle Alexander on 01926 418127 or via email at michellealexander@warwickshire .gov.uk

The consultation will run from 5 September 2016 to 31 October 2016. Returns will then be analysed, and will be considered alongside other consultation activity, to enable the Cabinet of Warwickshire County Council to make informed decisions on the future of these services.
