Hillmorton Liberal Democrats against Barby Lane developments
Councillors and campaigners representing the Liberal Democrats in the Hillmorton area have spoken out again in their objection to yet another planning application for a residential development of up to 113 dwellings off Barby Lane.
The application comes after Gladman re-submitted their application in November to build 107 homes on land at Waldings Farm in Hillmorton with vehicular access from Barby Lane.
Commenting, Councillor Tim Douglas for Paddox Ward, said:
"Proposals for the Gladman site were quite rightly rejected at planning by Councillors in the Summer. As a neighbouring ward Councillor I have concerns because this development would be next to the Rainsbrook Valley and set a dangerous precedent for future development in an area that we all love and enjoy."
Local campaigner and Lib Dem candidate for Hillmorton in the County Council elections, Craig McQueen, said:
"The area is already under strain and efforts must be doubled to improve the existing road network such as at the Paddox Junction to reduce high traffic volume and speeding cars to mitigate the effects on local residents. This would be a bad development and should be avoided by developers."
