Lesley George – candidate for Bilton Ward By-election

17 Oct 2014

Lesley lives in Bilton Ward. In fact she has lived in Rugby for the last 32 years although not all of this time in Bilton itself".

She was married, raised two young children Edward and Amy. They went to Ashlawn School so she knows what the local schools are like. Her husband died when Amy was still at school so she knows about the pressures of bringing up children by yourself. She has now got four grandchildren.

Lesley George is self-employed and works for small businesses in and around Rugby.

When her children were younger she used to help out at Rugby Gingerbread. She supported the "Save St Cross" campaign. She is a member of the National Trust and the Woodlands Residents Association.

When asked why she had chosen the Liberal Democrats Lesley said "Fair votes. I have been a supporter of fair votes since I was 18 and the Liberal Democrats are the only major party who support a fairer voting system".
