Rugby Liberal Democrats are delivering thousands of leaflets explaining Rugby Borough Council's latest proposals for the new South West Rugby township.

In September the Council's "top" six Tory councillors meeting as the Cabinet signed-off a consultation on a new masterplan for the area. However the consultation is to take place "on-line" only with no leaflets and no exhibitions.

Councillor Carie-Anne Dumbleton (Rokeby & Overslade) said:

"This is not good enough. Twelve thousand people are going to come and live in Rugby's new township. This will have a huge impact but the Cabinet are not prepared to say what is going on. We have decided to fill the gap left by the Tories' inaction and distribute our own leaflet to keep residents informed".
