Low Floor Buses

Tim Douglas continues to follow up the issues that Hillmorton residents raise, especially concerning the availability of low floor buses.

Stagecoach say that by April they will only have 25 out of a fleet of 392 buses that will not be low floor wheelchair accessible. However, they have informed Tim that due to current operational requirements on occasions non low floor vehicles operate on routes such as the 3/3A (Rugby Town Centre - Hillmorton).

One local resident was shocked and embarrassed when after waiting for a bus she was refused entry because she had a buggy and the bus was not low floor accessible.

It seems residents in areas such as Hillmorton will have to continue to put up with a low floor vehicle 'lottery service' on their routes until the changes come fully into effect.

Tim will keep pressing for these buses to be changed more quickly.
