MEP Phil Bennion Checks out DIRFT and A428

7 Mar 2013

Phil Bennion visited Rugby today to check out the potential impact on the A428 and Hillmorton area from DIRFT 3 and Mast site developments.

County Councillors Jerry Roodhouse and Richard Dodd explained first hand to Phil the local issues.

Phil sits on the Transport & Tourism Committee in the European Parliament and is fully aware of the A14, but wanted to understand the local issues of the developments and rail interchange.

Jerry Roodhouse said,

It was good to have Phil here to show him the local issues first hand and the proposed pavement and cycleway for the A428 that developers have been talking about. We also discussed the proposals for a new parkway station at Rugby that has been under consideration at European level.

MEP Phillip Bennion with County Councillors Jerry Roodhouse and Richard Dodd joined by former civil engineer Bill Lewis.
