Norman Lamb MP, the Chair of the West Midlands Combined Authority on Mental Health will speak at a dinner hosted by Rugby Liberal Democrats on Thursday 17 November 2016 at Arnold House in Rugby.

Norman is one of Britain's most tireless mental health campaigners and at Liberal Democrats Conference in September he announced plans for a 'New Beveridge Group' of independent health experts to consider the case for a dedicated NHS and care tax.

In the Coalition Government he was Minister of State for Care and Support, and was influential in ensuring that the Government introduced the first ever access rights and maximum waiting time standards in mental health. He has experienced mental health problems first hand within his own family and has called on Theresa May to make sure that mental health does not get drowned out by Brexit.

At the dinner Norman will talk about his role as the Chair of the West Midlands Combined Authority on Mental Health and give us his perspective on Westminster in addition to wider issues around health and care services.

Rugby Liberal Democrats are hosting the event, but it is open to all and we hope that people will join us for what we anticipate will be a fascinating and insightful evening.

The event is taking place on Thursday 17 November 2016 at Arnold House, Elsee Road, Rugby, CV21 3BA at 7:00pm for 7:30pm. Tickets are priced £25 and include a three-course meal. To obtain a ticket please telephone: 01788 816 411 or email: treasurer@rugbylibdems.org.uk
