Paddox School Expansion

Following further work and comments made after the original plans were thrown out by the County Council Regulatory Committee, the proposed expansion of Paddox School has been passed with the following changes,

· A lowered roof height for the proposed building;

· More sympathetic construction materials to match the existing building;

· No access from Welton Place and no footpath across the playing field;

· A pedestrian only access gate in Everdon Close;

· A road lining scheme to maintain freedom of movement in Everdon Close;

· Extra tree planting will be provided along with tree protection measures;

· A Green Travel Plan to promote sustainable transport choices.

In addition to the above, a further condition was included requiring the Highways Authority to improve road safety measures in consultation with local Councillors and residents. We thank those of you who made suggestions and commented on this application. We give our assurance that we will keep a close eye on progress during the construction phase and we will be monitoring traffic and pedestrian access.
