Petition launched to save the bandstand at Whitehall Rec
Rugby Lib Dems Eastlands Councillors Sue Roodhouse, Neil Sandison and Dale Keeling have launched a petition to save the bandstand at Whitehall Recreational ground.
The bandstand in Whitehall Recreation ground was erected to commemorate Rugby gaining Borough Council status in 1932. The bandstand is now under threat of demolition according to the Council. It has been closed off following health and safety concerns about its condition.
The area's Rugby Borough Eastlands Councillors are pressing hard for its repair and believe that the Council must take action to ensure it is preserved for future generations.
Residents in Rugby can sign the petition online or download a petition sheet from the Rugby Lib Dems website to collect signatures in their local area.

Commenting, Cllr Dale Keeling, said:
"The closing off of the bandstand is a worrying development. It has been part of the area's history for decades and my fellow Councillors and I in Eastlands believe that the Council should be doing all it can to either conserve the bandstand or have it replaced. If you think the Council should take action please sign the petition and show your support for the campaign."
