Plan needed to upgrade changing room facilities across Rugby says Cllr Tim Douglas

Councillor Tim Douglas has written to the local papers about the questions he is asking at Council and the need for a strategic policy and plan in place with regards to upgrading changing room facilities.

Dear Editor,

I was pleased to read in last week's paper about concerns for the condition of changing room facilities at Featherbed Lane. This is an issue that I raised at Full Council in August because other facilities at GEC field, Alwyn Road and Whinfield Rec are also suffering. I was disappointed to learn when I asked the Council if they have a strategic policy and plan in place with regards to upgrading changing room facilities, it is not deemed necessary to have a policy for such a small number of changing rooms. I don't think this is acceptable. Parks, changing rooms and pavilions are important community assets and help improve our health and well-being. They should be accessible for as many people as possible. I want to see Rugby Borough Council upgrade all changing room facilities and ensure a policy is in place so they allow for greater community use.

Yours sincerely,

Tim Douglas
