Planning Officers now recommending approval of Ridgeway Farm development off Ashlawn Road
Warwickshire County Council has withdrawn its objection to the planning proposal for 85 to 100 houses off Ashlawn Road on the Ridgeway Farm site - see http://rugby.lib.dm/a5Q7h. It is difficult to see why they have changed their mind as they are still saying the scheme could cause problems at the junction between Hillmorton Road/Ashlawn Road junction by the Paddox. As a result of the county council withdrawing their objection Rugby Borough Council officers are now recommending that the planning application be approved.
Paddox Cllr Richard Dodd has objected to the scheme saying that Rugby's brownfield sites should be developed before building is permitted on prime agricultural land.
A decision on the planning application will now be taken by the planning committee at 5.30pm on Wednesday 11 March. Local residents may speak at the committee meeting but should register their wish to speak with Rugby Borough Council - see http://www.rugby.gov.uk/speakingatplanning .
Paddox Cllr Jerry Roodhouse is planning on exercising his right as a ward councillor to speak to the planning committee.
