Re-elect Noreen New for Paddox on May 22nd
Noreen New, already well known to many of you for her work in the area, is asking for your support on May 22nd.
Noreen says,
"I would like to thank all the residents in the Paddox Ward, for their continued support over the past 9 years. My commitment to you in this election is that I will continue to work closely with local residents and fight to maintain vital services, such as St Cross Hospital. This election sees Paddox ward facing increasing pressure from new development and the extra traffic generated. I and fellow Liberal Democrat Councillors Richard Dodd & Jerry Roodhouse, will fight to protect our precious green and open spaces from the ever increasing demand to provide more housing in the Borough"
THERE ARE TWO ELECTIONS ON THURSDAY 22ND MAY 2014:
- Rugby Borough Council elections to elect a local Councillor for Paddox Ward
- European Elections to elect MEPs
Polls open 7am and close 10pm. Your vote could make all the difference, make sure it counts!
A personal message from Noreen New
Dear Resident,
Since you first elected me in 2005, we have and will continue to notice significant changes to Rugby. The recent boundary changes have seen Paddox Ward grow to include Abbots Farm and the Percival/ Catesby Road areas. The Mast Site has been given outline planning permission and there are currently proposals for a 1000 home development on Bilton Fields Farm off Ashlawn Road. The impact of all this new development will create more traffic on local roads which are already congested at peak times and this will need to be carefully controlled and managed.
Our town will continue to grow, as it is presently one of the fastest growing towns in the West Midlands. Whilst growth is inevitable and necessary to supply homes for our expanding population, we must keep a watchful eye on prospective developers, who are continually searching for available land.
Our natural environment will continue to be under constant threat and we need to remain vigilant to ensure that our green and open spaces are protected, so our precious wildlife can survive.
With your valued support on May 22nd, I will continue to:
- Campaign to save and protect our natural environment from the threat of further development
- Keep you informed and involved in local decisions through our regular Focus Newsletters
- Hold local consultation events to keep you updated on new developments
- Work cross party on the Universal Credit and Welfare Reform Task Group, to ensure the impact of the benefit changes and welfare reforms do not cause hardship to our most vulnerable residents
- Fight to save local vital services
- Ensure youth provision is maintained
- Work all year round, not just during an election
Yours sincerely,
Noreen New
