Roodhouse demands assurances on town centre’s future

18 Aug 2015

Paddox Cllr Jerry Roodhouse (Lib Dem) demanded assurances about the future of our shopping centre from the town's ruling tory group at this evening's cabinet meeting (18 August 2015). Referring to the tory proposals to drop counting the number of empty shops in the town centre he said "There should be a way we can compare ourselves against other towns". The tories were clearly unprepared to be challenged on their complacency regarding our town's future. Cllr Helen Taylor (Coton & Boughton, Con) eventually tried a weak remix of an old Four Season's number "I'll get back to you …" she promised.
