Rugby Borough Council Cabinet – Monday 9 March 2015
Rugby Borough Council's cabinet (see http://rugby.lib.dm/a0Rfg ) have 178 pages of reports to wade through at their meeting this evening. On past performance they will probably deal with them at the rate of five pages a minute.
The Cabinet will be considering its relationship to Rugby First, the company which runs the Rugby Town Rangers and CCTV system - see http://rugby.lib.dm/a0TG5 .
The Cabinet will also decide whether to allow the Coton Park Neighbourhood Plan to proceed to a referendum - see http://rugby.lib.dm/a9TG7 .
The Council's charging policy is also up for debate this evening. It appears that Rugby Borough Council receives a lot less fee income than other councils in our area and many of our paid for services eg cemeteries and bulky household waste collections are subsidised.
There is also an interesting report on the Council's housing service which claims that a change in the way the housing department is run has led to better relationships with tenants, better financial advice to tenants, early action to reduce debt problems, less rent arrears and fewer evictions.
