The Council is launching public consultations - in line with The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, (as amended) and the Community Infrastructure Levy Regulations 2010 (as amended) - on a number of different planning documents and would welcome feedback from residents.

All of these documents are available online and consultation ends for all documents at 5pm Friday 18th November 2022. Please note that any comments submitted will be made available for public inspection.

Climate Change and Sustainable Construction Supplementary Planning Document

The Climate Change and Sustainable Construction Supplementary Planning Document sets out how the planning system can help address climate change issues. It includes guidance on the design of development, energy efficiency and sustainable drainage amongst other matters. Also included is a sustainability checklist to ensure the right information is submitted with planning applications.

Gypsy and Traveller Site Allocations Development Plan Document - Issues and Options

The Gypsy & Traveller Site Allocations Development Plan Document - Issues & Options is the first stage in the process of adopting a development plan document that will ultimately provide sites for the gypsy and travelling community. At this stage the document does not allocate sites that will follow at a later stage. This document deals with general issues around overall levels of provision and possible locations for sites. It is accompanied by a call for sites for the travelling community.

Community Infrastructure Levy Draft Charging Schedule and Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document

A Community Infrastructure Levy draft charging schedule sets out proposed rates that the Council will levy on new development to help fund vital infrastructure within Rugby. It is accompanied by a Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document that sets out when the Council will seek to use Section 106 obligations and when it will seek to use the Community Infrastructure levy.
