Rugby Lib Dems encourage residents to have their say on recycling centres

8 Jun 2016

Rugby Liberal Democrats are encouraging residents in Rugby to have their say on local recycling centres by responding to Warwickshire County Council's online survey.

The survey aims to gather information about how and why residents use household waste recycling centres and if residents are satisfied with the provision of the current service. The survey will also collect views about the possible future direction of the service provision.

According to statistics on the Warwickshire County Council website, Rugby Borough Council achieved a recycling and composting rate for 2013/14 of 47%. In 2012/13 the rate was 51% and in 2011/12 the rate was 50%.

Rugby Lib Dems believe in the importance of recycling and building a sustainable future for the borough. The Party's manifesto at the 2015 General Election proposed five new Green Laws, including the introduction of a statutory recycling target of 70% for waste in England.

The deadline for responding to the survey is 12 June and residents can complete the survey here: https://askwarks.wordpress.com/
