Rugby needs Green Rangers says Cllr Neil Sandison

7 Dec 2014

Rugby has a rising population, a falling grant from central government and a welcome increase in concern for its environment.

How does Rugby Borough Council balance all these pressures?

Cllr Neil Sandison (Lib Dem, Eastlands) believes he has an idea that would help. He is proposing that the Council draft in volunteers from the town's naturalist, conservationist and environmental protection organisations to help with the task of inspecting the condition of our parks and open green spaces. The volunteers would create a green rangers team.

He has put down a motion calling for the Council to act on his idea to be debated by the Council this Tuesday, 9 December 2014.
