Rugby Schools Oversubscribed

27 Nov 2014

Documents released by Warwickshire County Council show that many Rugby Schools are already over-subscribed and this pressure is expected to increase over the next few years.

In 2018/19 primary Schools are expected to have 378 more pupils than the current number of places with hot spots like Cawston Grange Primary School where the county council expects 148 more pupils than its current capacity of 210. (The plight of Cawston Grange was one of a number of school pressure points raised at the Dunchurch Parish Council meeting of 21 November - see http://rugbylibdems.org.uk/en/article/2014/945569/dunchurch-parish-council-meeting-condemns-dun-cow-junction-plans .)

However the greatest pressure is for secondary school places. Here the county council expects more than a thousand pupils over and beyond current capacity. A secondary school hotspot is Ashlawn School where the county council expects demand to exceed current capacity by 358 places.
