Snow Wardens are Worth Their Salt!
The winter weather in late January has highlighted a valuable community-led service.
Snow Wardens have been out helping to clear local community areas. Recently, Bill Lewis made an appeal in Focus which produced eight Volunteer Snow Wardens in the Overslade, Rokeby, Hillside and ShakespeareGardens areas.
They have kept roads open which would otherwise have been impassable and cleared footpaths alongside roads, on much used routes to shops and outside sheltered accommodation so improving safety for pedestrians and drivers. Bill Lewis said,

Snow Wardens make quite a difference and more are needed. If you have a road, footpath or community area near you which becomes dangerous in icy weather and you would like to help clear snow and ice in future, please get in touch with Bill Lewis on mobile 07779273543 or by e-mail at bill.lewis@rugbylibdems.org.uk
We can look ahead and set up a network of Volunteer Community Snow Wardens in preparation for next winter!
