St Cross is good but Walsgrave needs improvement say Government Inspectors

13 Aug 2015

The Care Quality Commission has at last published its recent inspections of Walsgrave and St Cross - see http://rugby.lib.dm/a5Tw0 .

The overall rating for St Cross is good - see http://www.cqc.org.uk/sites/default/files/new_reports/AAAC8291.pdf .

However the overall rating for Walsgrave is "needs improvement" - see http://www.cqc.org.uk/sites/default/files/new_reports/AAAC8290.pdf .

Hospital of St Cross Rugby - no accident and emergency unit
No A&E and the trust has no vision for the minor injuries unit

The commission looked at the "nurse-led minor injuries and illness service" at St Cross. This service treats 26,000 patients a year but the trust has "no clearly defined vision or strategy" for the service. In other words the staff are doing the best they can but no one in the trust's hierarchy wants to know.
