Tim Douglas sends a personal message to Hillmorton

Dear Resident,

In recent weeks I have met and spoken to many of you on your doorstep and at Lib Dem drop in sessions. Lots of residents have raised concerns about Planning decisions affecting Hillmorton, the pedestrian scheme in the town centre and road safety. These and other issues demonstrate that the Conservative led Council in Rugby is out of touch with the views of residents in Hillmorton and have not acted in our best interest. The by-election on 21st November 2013 gives you an opportunity to vote for change by electing a young, enthusiastic and energetic local champion.

Why you should vote for Tim Douglas:

· I will vote against the Council using £500,000 of your money towards the town centre pedestrian scheme.

· I will introduce proposals for a community energy purchasing scheme so residents can purchase energy more cheaply.

· I will work with Lib Dem County Councillors Jerry Roodhouse and Richard Dodd to ensure that our community benefits from the development of the Mast site. We need better public transport, improved pedestrian access and more cycle ways.

· My priority is to reduce speeding throughout Hillmorton. I will tackle traffic congestion along the High Street and Crick Road.

· I will stand up for those seldom heard voices in Hillmorton. Liberal Democrat Councillors have a strong track record of working hard and delivering solutions for the community. With your vote I will make this a stronger team. Through our Focus leaflets we will continue to keep you regularly up-dated and informed.

These are my pledges to you.
