A 77 year old pensioner needed urgent medical treatment with an suspected broken collar bone thanks to a raised pavements on Church Street just up from our former toilets/bid refuge. After a quick investigation by Eastlands Lib Dem Councillors Dale Keeling & Neil Sandison realised that the raised pavement was due to root growth from three silver birches (bad choice of tree for that area as their roots stay on top of the surface) other slabs are also unstable. We have requested this area to be cordoned off until works are carried and a root treatment is undertaken to even out the slabs and paviors.

Update 6th Dec 2013: The area has now been sectioned off as requested by the two Councillors.
