Water leak at the junction of Wentworth Road and Dunchurch Road

20 Feb 2015

Local residents backed by Cllr Bill Lewis have been pressing Warwickshire County Council to repair the road surface at the junction of Wentworth Road and Dunchurch Road.

This work was finally completed in January 2015 but almost immediately afterwards a new water leak sprang up at the junction.

On Wednesday 28 January Severn Trent Water dug an inspection pit in the road but filled the pit back up on Thursday 29 January without finding the source of the leak. Water now flows from the edges of the filled inspection pit onto the road.

Cllr Bill Lewis has been pressing Severn Trent Water to resolve the water leak problem and in the meantime has alerted the county council to pay particular attention to gritting this stretch during cold weather.

So far Severn Trent Water have not found the leak but are planning "night trials" to pinpoint its source.
